When it comes to desktop computers, size doesn't always matter. If you need a super high-powered PC for gaming then sure, you're going to need a fairly big tower to house all of the components that come along with it. But if all you need is a computer that will handle web browsing, media streaming and typical work, you'll be surprised at how much you can fit into a tiny package. This gaming PC is built into a toy Tesla Model S and yes you can drive it around

Image
If you're tightening your belt due to the world's current mood of instability, look away. Because if you keep looking, you may be tempted to purchase a high-end gaming PC built inside the boot of a drivable mini Tesla Model S. For $13,432 (before shipping), you get the toy Tesla—which I repeat, is drivable—with a bonnet full of hardware. That price gets you an 11GB RTX 2080 Ti, 32GB RAM, a Ryzen 9 3900X, and a Hydro X liquid cooling system. The whole thing is underlit by iCUE RGB lighting. There are some cosmetic customisation options, but if you're hoping to downgrade any of the above listed components for a better price, I'm afraid that's not an option. When you're not using it to play games, you can invite a kid to drive the car (or you can drive it yourself, if you happen to be a kid), which has working headlights and a horn. Of course, it's a toy, so you won't be doing laps of main blaring happy hardcore in it. It won't make you quite that coo

Here's the most insane custom dual-system streaming PC you'll ever see

Image
If you are a steamer, or are interested in streaming, then you have most likely heard about a dual PC setup. But have you ever seen a dual PC setup as crazy as this one? Introducing ORTHRUS, a custom water-cooled dual-system PC that is rocking most of the best hardware you can get right now. This build was done by Harris Heller, a well-known Twitch streamer and a full-time content creator on YouTube and other platforms. Harris decided to take his original dual system streaming set up and jam all that delicious hardware into one convenient case. So what kind of hardware are we looking at here? First off, the case is the Phanteks Enthoo 719. Inside of that case is two motherboards, a full-size ATX for the streaming PC, and a mini ATX for the gaming PC. The streaming PC is running a Ryzen 7 3800X with an RTX 2080 SUPER, and the gaming PC is running an Intel i9 9900K with an RTX 2080Ti. Water-cooling wise, Harris decided to go with EK Water Blocks for water blocks and NZXT for the AIO cool

The TurboGrafx-16 Mini is a much-welcome visit back to the ‘Xennial’ of consoles

Image
Here's the good news: This is probably the best mini console released so far, and that's surprising considering the obscurity of the console and the 57 games included. At $99, I was prepared to write this off as expensive home decor for retro collectors. But after browsing through its library, I'm convinced the TurboGrafx-16 Mini provides more value than most people would know. It's got Soldier Blade! It's got famously homoerotic shooter Cho Aniki! It's got Ginga Fuke Densetsu Sapphire! It even has Akumajo Dracula X Chi no Rondo! A lot of those titles may not excite you, but it's worth knowing that buying them could run you hundreds or thousands of dollars on the collector's market. Released in Japan as the PC Engine, the TurboGrafx-16 suffered in the 90s for simply not being distinctive enough, choked at the end by extraneous peripheral upgrades like a CD-ROM drive. The console was between generations of the 8-bit Nintendo era and the 16-bit years defin

10 Games We Wish Were on the TurboGrafx-16 Mini

Image
So the TurboGrafx-16 Mini is here—kind of. Maybe? Review units went out to American press weeks ago, but due to the COVID-19 crisis, its public launch has been postponed from the original date in March. Rest assured that it's coming, someday, potentially when you least expect it. You'll probably find it worth the wait. As I wrote in my review last week (and which I will helpfully link to right here for the second straight paragraph), it sets a new standard for retro microconsoles. It's not just a nostalgia machine, but fills in a vital piece of gaming history that has been widely forgotten or overlooked, and also might be the single best collection of shoot 'em ups you'll ever buy. It's good. But that doesn't mean it can't be better. Between the TurboGrafx-16 and its Japanese counterpart, the PC Engine, there are almost 60 games on this thing. That's a lot. It's so many that it feels a little silly to be writing about what

Apple mini-LED iPad Pro reportedly postponed to 2021

Image
Rumors about a new iPad Pro with 5G connectivity and a brand new mini-LED display technology have been frequenting the rumor mill for quite some time. However, if you've been eagerly waiting for this new piece of technology, we have some bad news. According to a report from China's Economic Daily News, the Apple mini-LED iPad Pro launch will be pushed back to the spring of 2021. The reason behind this change is surely another of COVID-19 consequences. The report states that Apple pushed the tablet launch to the next year due to supply chain delays with Apple's component suppliers. The previous rumors were pointing that the new tablet would reach the market in the second half of this year. It would likely come with the next-gen iPhone lineup which will mark Apple's entry in the 5G era. Apparently, LG was the main mini-LED manufacturer for Apple's upcoming 10-inch and 12-inch tablets. Later this year, we would also see a new MacBook Pro flaunting  15-17-inch d

The PC Engine Mini is an education in some of action gaming's all-time greats

Image
There has been no shortage of mini-consoles since Nintendo kickstarted the trend with its NES Classic, and being a sucker for nostalgia I've collected most of them. They're fine things, all, though they often end up on the shelf after a couple of weeks once I've revisited everything. The PC Engine Mini, though, has been plugged into my TV constantly for a month now, and has been played far more than any of its other tiny hardware brethren. Why's that, exactly? It's simple, I think - the PC Engine Mini offers the thrill of discoverability. If you're a diehard collector maybe that's not the case for you, though I think for most of us the PC Engine and its original games line-up has been out of reach for some time. Its release in the UK in 1990 was some three years later than its introduction in Japan and, as a result of the system's failure in America, limited. Many of its very best games never made it west at all, and even if you did want to import you&

CHUWI Unveils LarkBox the World's Smallest Mini PC with Giveaway

Image
This bite-sized PC is smaller than an apple By Christopher Coke on April 18, 2020 | News | 0 CHUWI, makers of affordable tablets and PCs, unveiled the LarkBox with a giveaway today. Measuring 2.4x2.4x1.7 inches, it's a full-fledged PC that can fit in the palm of your hand.  Even though CHUWI is comparing the PC to an apple, it's actually fairer to say it's the size of a mini apple.  At only 2.4 x 2.4x1.7 inches and 127 grams, it's easy to mistake it for something else entirely, but make no mistake, this is a real PC you could throw in the side pocket of a bag with room to spare. Despite its small size, the LarkBox has enough processing power to be quite the capable entertainment or productivity PC. It's running an 8th-gen Intel N4100 with integrated UHD graphics, and 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It even comes with a built-in 128GB SSD for rapid booting and responsive media storage. I've used the

NZXT’s H1 mini-ITX case is attractive quiet and a simple build

If you plan to put a PC in a highly visible place, you're not going to want some hulking desktop case that is impossible to ignore. You want something sleek, small, and quiet, and that's exactly what NZXT has made in the H1. With this mini-ITX case, NZXT understands how people use PCs in a living space. And it also ensured that the H1 is simple to build with. The NZXT H1 is available now for $350 in black or white. That is a lot of money, but NZXT preinstalls an AIO liquid CPU cooler and a 650W 80Plus Gold modular power supply. That's going to save you a lot of money, and it ensures the system is as compact and easy to use as possible. What you'll like Beautiful NZXT styling Front-facing design that looks great in an entertainment center Surprisingly quiet Simple to build with and easy to access components Supports large GPUs Front-panel USB-C What you won't like It's physics, but I wish it was a touch smaller Putting I/0 on th

TurboGrafx-16 Mini Review

Image
Of all the mini consoles released so far, the TurboGrafx-16 Mini is perhaps the most exciting. The original PC Engine was a beloved console in Japan with a huge library of great games, but when the console released as the TurboGrafx-16 in North America, the vast majority of those games never made their way over. Unlike Nintendo and Sega's classic titles, these games have rarely been re-released over the years, and so the TurboGrafx-16 Mini does something very special. It brings together some of the best games from both the TG-16 and PC Engine libraries and packs them into one convenient device that does right by the console's mixed past. For $100 USD, you get the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, a USB TurboGrafx-16 controller, an HDMI cable, and a microUSB cable to power the mini console--no USB outlet adapter is included. It comes with 57 games from both the TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine libraries, 32 of which are in Japanese--though most of them are
